Computers will be mobile in the form of a “cell phone”. While on the go, a user can use a wireless visor or roll up display. While “docked”, the computer can connect to a more conventional display. The roll up display also serves as a keyboard/touch pad for user input. To be truly mobile, a virtual reality glove doubles as a keyboard.
An end user computer will have very little components to maintain. Most updates can be done remotely and automatically. An end user computer can choose to bootstrap remotely, which means even the device drivers and the operating system are downloaded on-the-fly.
An end user does not need to do much to maintain a computer, just occasionally approving upgrades and changes. Because the resolution of our retina cannot change, nor can we grow new fingers, the input/output devices do not need to be upgraded very often, either.
