3 VDE

VDE (virtual distributed ethernet) is a virtual ethernet switch. It offers multiple network “ports” that can be connected to virtual machines. Each port of VDE functions like a real port of a physical switch. VDE is supported directly by newer versions of KVM (which is derived from QEMU) so that virtual machines may connect to ports of a VDE switch without much hassle.

In fact, once installed VDE does not require any administrative rights to run.
