At the heart of a VPN is the VPN driver/daemon. This is essentially a software component provides a virtual network interface with security features.
OpenVPN is an open source VPN driver/daemon. It is available for many different operating systems, including Windows 2000 and later versions and Linux. We will discuss how to set up OpenVPN later in this module.
