3.3 IMAP

Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) is a better protocol than POP3. It can do everything that POP3 can, plus the ability to manage messages when they are stored on the server. Capabilities that are unique to IMAP (compared to POP3) include the ability to mark messages using different status flags, the ability to create logical folders on the email server, and the ability to move/copy messages among the folers.
