An increasing number of word processors can export documents as HTML documents. This is one method to publish a word processing document on the web without the use of plug-ins. However, this alternative approach has its limitations, as well.
First of all, the automatic export function cannot add tags to bitmaps automatically. This means that the generated HTML documents may require some manual touch ups before they are ADA compliant. However, as HTML documents, at least there are automated tools to check for ADA compliance.
