4.5 Debian base system

The next step (after partitioning) is the installation of the base Debian system onto the hard disk. This may take a while, especially if you are using QEMU on a slower machine. Just take a break, brew some coffee and stretch.

After the base system is installed, the installer asks you to confirm the installation of GRUB boot loader. Unless you have dealing with a dual-booting system, you should answer ``Yes''.

The next screen informs you that the system will now reboot. If you are using QEMU, you need to change one of the options so that the emulator does not attempt to boot from CD again. If you are using QEMU, close the emulator window when it attempt to reboot (but it will fail).

If you use QEMU, edit the batch file, and change the -boot d option to -boot c. Then, rerun the batch file. If you are using a real physical computer, there is nothing to do except waiting for the system to reboot!
