2 Introduction

QEMU is an emulator that allows a host machine and operating system to run a guest operating system. For example, let's say you have a PC running Windows XP. With QEMU, you can run Linux, FreeBSD, or any other operating system as a Window in Windows XP. This is great for server administration exercises, and many other educational purposes.
