12RODS

The Band That Almost Was

Watch the video below for a little background information on the history of 12RODS.

Online music streaming is honestly a wonderful thing. Without it, I never would have found the group, which was randomly recommended to me through Spotify. It's also allowed 12RODS, which fell to relative obscurity after the 90s, to have a resurgence.

This revival resulted in 12RODS going on tour last year. I was lucky enough to see them during one of their West Coast shows, which was fantastic! What surprised me was that they even played songs from Separation Anxieties.

While Separation Anxieties was a critical failure when it first came out, it's an album that I really do enjoy. I think as time has passed, people have been able to appreciate it a lot more. It's the black sheep of their discography, but it's still able to hold its own.

Below is one of my favorites from the album, "Glad That It's Over." Of all the songs on the album, it's probably the most classic 12RODS-sounding one.
