Publishing History
Pride and Prejudice was first published in 1813 and is Austen's second published novel. However, Austen had
written the novel much earlier. She started writing in 1796 at 20 years old and finished the next year. The revised version
of this novel is what we have to come to know and love as Pride and Prejudice today.
