ANGELICA DURAN

American River College CISW 300

Hello, my name is Angelica Duran. I work full-time as an analyst for the State of California, where I help implement programs designed to assist individuals with disabilities in becoming active members of the community. The mission of my department holds special meaning for me, as I have a personal connection to it; my son is legally blind, and I understand the challenges that families face. Alongside my professional responsibilities, I am the proud mother of four wonderful children, aged 17, 8, 4, and 3.

Currently, I am a part-time student pursuing a degree in Computer Programming. My interest in website publishing and coding began during the MySpace era, where I learned to use HTML to enhance my page's visual appeal. In previous positions, I also managed the websites for various departments. I believe that this degree will expand my career opportunities and increase my earning potential.

Since the pandemic, I have relocated from Sacramento to 12 acres in Placerville with my mom and husband, embracing a more rural lifestyle. I take pleasure in raising chickens and collecting colorful eggs from different breeds. In my spare time, I enjoy whale watching and camping by the seaside with my family each year, finding tranquility in nature.
