Chocolate Cake

Based on the Old Fashioned Hershey's recipe. Unsweetened cocoa powder, esspresso powder, and vanilla extract make this the perfect holiday treat (8 servings).

Ingredients

2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon espresso powder
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water

Directions

Preheat oven to 350° F (176° C).
Add flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder to a large bowl and whisk through to combine.
Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla to flour mixture and mix together on medium speed until well combined.
Distribute cake batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until a cake tester comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 10 minutes Remove from the pan and cool off completely.
Frost the cake.
Put decorations on the cake.

The cake was so moist and easy to make.

I thought it was okay. I enjoyed the texture, but there was not enough flavor for my taste. The recipe was easy to make but I wish there was something extra to add more flavoring.

I like the cake and how simple the recipe is. I always bring it when there is an event and it is a hit everytime!
