Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies 3 1/2 stars

A quick and easy oatmeal chocolate chip recipe given to me by my aunt Tracy. My favorite egg-free cookie recipe. Make it your own and change it up by adding other ingredients like peanut butter! (makes 12 large cookies or 24 small cookies).

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Mix together oats, flour, and sugars.
  3. Stir in melted butter.
  4. Disolve the baking soda in the hot water and add it to the batter.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop by about 1 inch rounded mounds (or whatever size you want) onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake at 350° for 6-11 minutes. Baking time varies per batch and oven but at least check at 6 minutes.
  9. Remove when edges start to brown. The cookies will harden as they cool at room temperature which should take at least 5 minutes.
