3.2 Windows editors

If you have a reasonably fast Internet connection, you can download a source code file, edit on a PC running Windows, then upload the modified file back to the originating Linux box. This is really not as bad as it seems. WinSCP is a program that you can use to transfer files. WinSCP can also download, edit and upload files all with just a few clicks.

In Windows, you can use the built-in editors like notepad and wordpad. However, there are plenty of open source programmer editors out there, most can perform syntax highlighting, parantheses matching, block hiding and other cool features.

You can visit http://www.thefreecountry.com/programming/editors.shtml for a list of editors.
