3.5 Dual booting

Putting two operating systems on a computer can be done. However, beginners should avoid dual booting initially because it can, potentially lead to partition corruption, or rendering the computer unbootable to all installed operating systems.

If your computer already has an operating system that you wish to ``keep'', the best solution is to install Linux on another (set of) hard disk(s). This way, you keep the original operating system completely intact.
