A Little About Myself
I grew up in Guam until I was 13 years old. I moved to California in 2001, and I've been here ever since. I have a bachelors degree in Business Marketing at Sacramento State. I'm a user experience analyst at CalPERS (California Pension Employees Retirement System) where I help make their websites easier to use. I'm going back to school to learn the basics of HTML and CSS so I can properly learn how to code.
My Computer Experience
I'm pretty familiar with computers. I've owned both PCs and Macs, and have had both iOS and Android mobile phones. My favorite computer is a PC and my favorite mobile phone is an iPhone.
What I Know About the Web and Web Publishing
I've learned some basics of the web and accessibilty for my job. However, I've never built a web page from the ground up. I'm familiar with publishing pages in a content management system, such as SharePoint. I would like to know a more well-rounded knowledge of HTML and CSS. Sometimes I can tinker with a developer's code, but I don't really know what I'm doing. Also, there's so many ways to code something. I'd like to know what is the standard way of coding, or what's preferred. Lastly, I'm interested in coding for accessiblity.
