| American River College is a candidate to become a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE). The goal of the CAE Cyber Defense Education program is to reduce vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting higher education and research in cyber defense and producing professionals with cyber defense expertise. | The program helps students to proactively increase their understanding of robust information assurance and cyber defense (IA/CD) technology, policy, and practices to work collaboratively as professionals to enable our Nation to effectively prevent and respond to a catastrophic cyber event. | This program provides the information and skills necessary for network administration professionals to implement security from internal and external threats for an enterprise network. It covers client and server security on different operating systems, disaster recovery planning, and forensics. This program also provides preparation for several computer information security certification exams, including the Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Security+ exam, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) exams and several of the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification exams. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
